DMV Teams at USYS National Championships: Group Stage Recap

Pipeline SC – U13B, U14G & U17G (3/3 Advance)

The U13B (06’s) have advanced to the National Championship today (Livestream below) at 6:30 PM EST after winning their group at Nationals with a perfect 3-0 record! PSC grabbed 1-0 wins on all 3 matchdays against Rebels SC (California South), FC Dallas (Texas North) and Michigan Jaguars (MI), respectively.

U13B goals have come from: Anthony Topolski (GWG #1) and Christian Rugel Jr (GWG #2 & #3).

U13 Boys National Championship vs Michigan Jaguars

Pipeline SC 05’s

The Pipeline U14G’s topped their group with a 2-0-1 record, going unbeaten against TFS Elite (South Ohio 5-0 W), Snohomish United (Washington 1-0 W) and Lou Fusz Geerling (Missouri 0-0 T). The 05’s advance to the semifinals on Saturday (27th) morning at 7 AM against the 2nd placed finisher in Group A, D’Feeters (North Texas).

U14G goals have come from: Payton Schenning (3x), Syney Feiler, Tenayie Jakovics and Hannah Jibril.

Pipeline SC 02’s

The U17 girls complete the perfect trio of Pipeline teams advancing from the group stages, with a 2nd place finish in Group A confirming their spot in the semifinals on Saturday at 9 AM. The 02’s advance after grabbing wins over HMMS Eagles (5-1) and National Union (2-1), sandwiched between a 6-2 loss to Cleveland FC.

U17G goals have come from: Baylee DeSmit (5x, Golden Boot), Laney Cornelius (3x Bronze Boot) and Palina Jordan.

Baltimore Celtic SC – U16B, U17B, U19B (2/3 Advance)

Baltimore Celtic 03’s

The Celtic 03’s U16B team finished off their 2018-19 season with a 0-2-1 record at the National Championships after a strong year in which the team went 45-6-4, winning a USYS National League title and finishing as State Cup and Regional Finalists. The team lost to Syracuse DA 1-0 and SLSG (Missouri) 2-1, before finishing off with a 2-2 tie vs FC Dallas Premier.

U16B goals came from: Vincent Danielson, Miles Lam and Lawrence Aydlett Jr.

Baltimore Celtic 02’s

The Celtic 02’s advance to Saturday’s National Semifinals at 9 AM against defending National Champions, Arlington SA, after finishing 2nd in Group A with a 2-1 record in group play. The 17’s lost on Day 1 to Solar SC (North Texas 2-3), before coming back with wins against Coral Estates (Florida 5-0) and Washington Premier (2-0).

U17B goals came from: Spencer Hanks (4x Golden Boot), Alexander Krause 2x (Bronze Boot), Torren Aikens, Alexander Crabbs and an OG.

Baltimore Celtic 00’s

The Celtic 2000’s are still alive in their pursuit of a 3rd straight USYS National Championship, after a 2nd place finish in Group B, behind Lehigh Valley United. Celtic picked up 3-0 and 4-0 wins against Kingdom SC (Michigan) and FC Golden State (South California), between a 2-0 loss to LVU. Celtic will face off against FC Dallas at 9 AM on Saturday in the semifinals.

U19B goals came from: Ben Stitz 3x, Anthony Dragisics 2x, Cole Hendricks and Jayson Butler.

Arlington SA 02 Red – U17B (Advanced)

Arlington SA 02’s

The Arlington 02’s claimed 3 results in 3 days to top their group and head into an all DMV semi final against Baltimore Celtic (9:00 AM EST), for a chance to defend their 2018 U16 National Title. After a Day 1 tie with the Michigan Jaguars (1-1), ASA shutout OKC Energy FC (3-0) and Santa Clara Sporting (1-0).

U17 ASA goals came from: Joseph Core 3x, Kyle Burbage and Jose Alvarado.

Premier SC 01 Navy – U18G (Advanced)

Premier SC 01’s

Premier Navy’s 01’s advance to the National Semifinals at 7 AM EST on Saturday against Celtic FC of Utah after a 1-1-1 record earned them 2nd place in Group B! PSC tied La Roca (Utah) 2-2, lost to TFA Elite (South Ohio) 3-1 and beat National Union (Michigan) 1-0.

U18 PSC goals came from: Madison Carr 2x, Phoebe Canoles, Toni Flocco-Mizer

McLean YS Hotspur 00/01 – U19B (1-1-1) 3rd place

McLean YS 00/01’s

The McLean Hotspur’s narrowly missed on out a spot in the National Semifinals on Goal Difference after tying Lower Merion SC 2-2 today and finishing the group stages with 1 more goal conceded than them. McLean started off on Day 1 with a 1-0 win over Ohio Premier before losing to FC Dallas on Day 2.

MYS goals came from: Jared DuBose 2x and Daniel Diaz-Bonilla

OBGC Rangers 01 Blue – U18B (0-2-1) 4th place

OBGC 01’s

The OBGC Rangers close out a successful year with a 0-2-1 finish at nationals. The Rangers opened up on Matchday 1 with a 1-1 tie against the Michigan Wolves before losing 4-1 to PPA KSA (Georgia) and 1-0 against FC Dallas (North Texas). The Rangers close out the 2018-19 season with their 3rd straight MD State Cup title and a National League Title, which qualified them for the National Championships!

U18 OBGC goals came from: Eric Moreno and Samuel Wells
